[ to say nikki is pleased is an understatement. she's dead. what was the point of getting a heart if it was to stop beating a few months later?
she's lingering. she's still hovering on earth as a ghost, and some shit is going to go down. she may not have precognition, but nikki's smarter than she looks. she wants to tell curtis and the gang that they need better powers; they need some sense, and they need to make sure rudy doesn't fuck things up for them.
she doesn't even know how she becomes corporealised when she's walking near her flat. she's nowhere near the community centre when the medium calls forth the spirits from the other side; perhaps it's because she has so much invested in the people there, or maybe it's because she has serious unfinished business to attend to, or maybe it's just because his power extends to every corner of england. she doesn't know and she doesn't really care. no one in this damn place knows how their power works.
no one is around to notice her. she walks around aimlessly, looking for someone. anyone. she really wants to run into one of her friends if she can. that way, she can get straight down to business, tie up loose threads, be bitter, and move the fuck on.
it was fucking boring being dead. ]

The community centre was going to be his next stop, but he's taking his time. He isn't really anywhere near it when he spots the last familiar face he'd been expecting to see.]
Nice to see you're over that whole getting shot thing. You could've at least given me a call, let me know you were okay. I might've even sent you a wedding invitation.
no subject
she crosses her hands over her chest. ] Who, in their right mind, would want to marry a twat like you?
no subject
I mean, okay. Maybe the whole marriage thing didn't work out yet, but not because she didn't want to. We're going to try again when we think the police are done looking for me.

You miss a lot when you're dead. [ she shakes her head. nikki still thinks nathan's pulling her leg (when isn't he?) but he's the only person around here who she knows, so. she's just going to try and get some info. ]
Who did you piss off, now?

And where are the others in this harebrained scheme?

[ bagging out nathan take #34543. ]
What were you doing in Vegas?
no subject
Scamming casinos. If I'm going to have a power I want to get my monies worth out of it. I'm pretty much a proper con artist now.
no subject
You couldn't con the dumbest person on the planet. [ which happens to be himself, in her opinion. she narrows her eyes. ] Why aren't you in Vegas right now?
no subject
[God, Nikki. Why are you being so dumb? He gives her a look.] Would you hang around town if you were on the run? How retarded do you think I am?
no subject
So, you're pulling rabbits out of hats now? These powers couldn't be any more shit even if they tried.
no subject
Anyway, who are you calling shit? I got the best power out of the lot of them. Except maybe Curtis, but I thought getting that power might confuse Nathan Jr growing up a bit.
no subject
jesus christ, shit does change. but he said the magic word and she's stopped picking on him. and that frees her brain from exploding at the idea of nathan with a child. ]
What about Curtis?

her voice is tight, despite her shock. ]
He can't tell me because I'm dead. Or did you forget that, you twat? Shot straight through the heart.
no subject
I don't see dead people anymore, remember?
no subject
What the fuck is going on?
[ she says it to no one in particular. ]
First, I get shot, and then I get stuck in what I imagine is the afterlife. And now I've been brought here. Wasting my time talking to you instead of figuring out what the fuck is going on and how I can get back to fuck know's where.
I really doubt I've been brought back here to have a second life. Kind of a shitty second chance, don't you think?
[ someone has been drinkin the bitcharade. ]
no subject
[God, Nikki. Nathan makes a face.] Who cares how shit it is? You're alive. Unless it's that time of the month I'd stop whining and make the most of it.
no subject
[ take a drink every time someone says that. ]
Whenever shit with powers happens, it's followed by even more shit. I'd like to figure out what that is before I find myself shot in the heart again or worse.
[ she can't believe she's even going to say this. she looks away before looking back at him, except not quite meeting his eye. ] You willing to help me with that?
no subject
Nathan makes a face, then shrugs.] Sure. It's not like I've got anything better to do.
no subject
[ why he's back here, she doesn't really know. ]
You seen the rest of the gang?
no subject
Not yet. Just got back here. I take it you haven't seen them just yet?
no subject
I honestly wouldn't even know where to begin. Community service is over. I'm sure Curtis got fired from his job for giving you free drinks by now.
